AND YOU ARE INVITED
THEME: Who’s Your CHOSEN Character?
Check out my review by A Well Read Woman blog – See it here
“I loved the rich setting of this novel. Everything was very industrial and sterile, much how I would imagine the world to be in one-hundred-fifty years. The world building was superb and had me lost in the pages.” – A Well Read Woman

Chosen is the first book of the Chosen Series which takes place 150 years into the future. Earth is a changed place where the seeds of corporate greed and government corruption have finally allowed those who’ve held power, money, and control for millennia to leverage that power to save only themselves, at any cost.
While compelled by their interests, pollution driven into the earth puts the planet at risk for deadly disasters that threaten to tear it apart and threaten the stability of an ordered system. Hope for the future rests with a group of diverse teens genetically engineered before birth and chosen from around the world to save earth and its people.
Our heroes must choose between the rules made by those in power and moral obligations to the planet and its people.
Chosen follows seven teens born on every continent and is intentionally diverse. As an author and citizen of the world, Bernette believes that art should reflect life and eve n inspire life to be a better version of itself. In this first book, these seven teens must learn to trust themselves to do what needs to be done while still learning who and what they are.
Chosen and the Chosen series was born in the wee hours of the morning on the day after Christmas 2016. Bernette woke up suddenly with the need to write not just a book but a series. Despite feeling overwhelmed with the idea of tackling something like this, a few days later her fingers hit the keys and in less than six weeks she had the first draft of book one done. Six weeks after that the next two books were drafted. She quickly learned that was the easy part!
